Hello everyone and thank you for joining us for “Cette musique qui nous apaise”.
Céleste: what a wonderful name for today’s program!
Angelic melodies, joyful sounds and, above all, divine performances. Today, Marie-France Veilleux and Isaac Jobin bring us exquisite melodies from the great classics, creating a wonderful ambiance of calm and serenity. It is a clear path to that mystical place we call paradise.
Marie-France Veilleux studied piano at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec and pipe organ at Université Laval, where she earned a master’s degree in concert performance.
From 1990 to 1996, she spent time in Paris perfecting her organ skills with the great masters. She has performed in concerts in France, Belgium and Quebec, and on various Radio-Canada programs. She brilliantly leads a dual career as a performer and teacher.
The recipient of numerous awards and prizes, she is also the instigator of Mont-Saint-Hilaire’s Concerts autour de l’orgue series.
Isaac Jobin is a violinist, teacher, and co-founder of the Groupe Izanto agency. He acquired his musical training at the Université de Montréal, including a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a specialized graduate diploma in violin performance. He plays first violin with the Sinfonia de Lanaudière.
He is also a jazz saxophonist. He has performed on numerous stages in Montréal and abroad. A multi-talented artist, he likes to be involved in a wide range of musical projects.
Let us now drift off to those heavenly places where beautiful, sweet music enraptures us with a foretaste of paradise.
