Hello Everyone,
It’s so nice to be back for our Sunday afternoon musical get-togethers! And what a pleasure it is to have you with us, week after week!
All it takes is a note, a melody, and a few dance steps, and we’re transported to the wonderful world of Broadway!
Whether they’re dramas or light-hearted comedies, musicals lift our spirits and put us in the mood to sing and dance.
To introduce us to this world of joyful melodies, we’re joined today by a talented pianist and singer and a mezzo-soprano whose talent belies her young age!
Rose Naggar-Tremblay is known for her rich vocal timbre and insightful performances. She puts her creativity and great love of languages to use in a variety of artistic endeavours, including writing librettos and children’s shows, composing original songs, and performing her favourite contemporary operas.
Her great curiosity and wide-ranging musical background allow her to explore a vast opera repertoire. Rose is also a very active chamber music performer, taking part in numerous concerts and recitals. Without a doubt, she’s a Montréal opera star.
Claudel Callender is a versatile musician (singer, pianist, composer and choral conductor) who tackles different musical styles and genres with ease and gusto.
He holds a doctorate in vocal arts from the Université de Montréal Faculty of Music and is the recipient of numerous prizes and awards. He is behind a number of major projects, including the Messe du pardon, the founding of the vocal ensemble Vox Luminosa, and the direction of large-scale concerts.
Claudel is also a composer and in 2012, he launched his first album, Présence, featuring his original compositions for piano and strings.
Without further ado, let’s welcome Rose Naggar-Tremblay and Claudel Callender for “Les beaux airs de comédies musicales.”
